WaterUps in Action
Across Australia and beyond, WaterUps is helping create greener, more resilient spacesโwhether it's on rooftops, in backyards, or across community farms. Below is a snapshot of real-world projects from a range of sectors, each showing how our wicking systems solve water challenges, reduce maintenance, and support sustainable growth.
Commercial
WaterUps is ideal for commercial spacesย where reliability, low maintenance, and aesthetics matter. From rooftops to courtyards, our wicking systems provide consistent moisture without the need for complex irrigationโhelping developers, councils, and businesses keep their landscapes looking great while saving time and water.
Crowne Plaza Hotel โ Hobart, TAS
WaterUpsย Wicking Cellsย were installed in the rooftop perimeter planters of The Dock restaurant on Level 9. The goal was to maintain consistent soil moisture for edible native plants in an exposed, windy rooftop setting, while minimising maintenance requirements in a hard-to-access area.
Residential & Indoor
WaterUps makes home gardening easier, greener, and more rewarding.ย Whether youโre growing veggies on a balcony, keeping your lawn green, or designing a low-fuss indoor plant zone, our wicking beds and sub-irrigation channels take the guesswork out of watering. Perfect for busy homeowners and apartment dwellers alike.
Ipswich Backyard Lawn โ QLD
WaterUpsย Sub-Irrigation Channelsย were installed beneath residential turf to help maintain a green, healthy lawn during Queenslandโs extreme summer heat. The system delivers water directly to the root zone, reducing evaporation and irrigation frequency.
Schools & ELCs
WaterUps is the go-to solution for educational gardens.ย Our systems help schools and early learning centres set up thriving veggie beds and green spaces that are easy to manage and fun to learn from. With minimal watering and no mess, theyโre ideal for hands-on sustainability learning with limited resources.
Bondi Public School โ NSW
WaterUpsย Wicking Beds and Cellsย were installed as part of a school vegetable garden initiative. The aim was to create a low-maintenance, sustainable learning space where students could grow their own produce while learning about water-wise gardening.
Food Growing / Urban Agriculture
WaterUps empowers local growers and community farmsย to produce food efficiently while conserving water. Our systems support healthy, productive growing in compact or challenging spacesโmaking them perfect for regenerative farms, social enterprises, and urban agriculture projects with a mission.
Hildasid Farm โ South West Sydney, NSW
WaterUps Wicking Beds were installed across multiple growing zones at Hildasid Farm, a not-for-profit regenerative farming initiative that supplies fresh produce to vulnerable communities. The farm also supports inclusive employment for people living with disability.
