WaterUps co-host Sydney Edible Garden Trail

This year Eric Sturman from WaterUps® joined Costa, and other roaming reporters for the Sydney Edible Garden Trail. Due to COVID restriction and concerns gardeners opened their gardens for both a physical and virtual trail. The aim of ‘the trail’ is to encourage and inspire growing edible produce in street gardens, home gardens and public spaces across Sydney.

The virtual trail was held on February 21st, 27th and 28th with over 50 gardens featured, from private gardens to school and community gardens. These were primarily located in suburbs north and west of Parramatta River e.g. Ku-ring-gai, Lane Cove, Willoughby, Hunters Hill, Ryde, Hornsby, North Sydney, Mosman, Northern Beaches Councils, Hawkesbury, Cumberland, Canada Bay and surrounding areas.

The physical trail was scheduled for late March but had to be cancelled due to the extreme wet weather that was impacting the east coast of Australia. This has now been rescheduled for the 1st and 2nd May with visits planned for a number of edible gardens of backyard growers, large and small, across Sydney.

It was very pleasing to see so many of the featured gardens this year as proud customers of WaterUps®.

You can still view the Sydney Edible Garden Trail and find inspiration for your garden.
