Wicking Beds suitable for Tasmania’s dry climate
In Tasmania WaterUps has been used for private and commercial installations including public spaces and rooftop gardens such as the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Hobart and custom planter boxes at Hobart Airport.
Architect firms such as Core Collective Architects and BPSM Architects have used WaterUps wicking beds in their developments.
Aside from our range of planter boxes, the WaterUps wicking set-up can be used in any size garden bed, supporting creative custom designs and bringing gardening to sites that were in the past challenging due to watering requirements.
Scalability is one of the major appeals of the modular WaterUps system, allowing long garden bed designs or irregular shaped beds to be take advantage of the most efficient watering system available. When used in a raised garden bed you will only use around 20% of the water typically used for an above the ground watering system. This represents a massive savings over the life of any garden.
